Cycling Club est 1899

Come and join us...We're into all sorts of riding: road, track, moutain biking, cross, so whatever your cycling interests, experience or fitness the club has something to offer you...racing, time trials, club rides, mountain biking and a club night at the Arden Arms. Meet Wednesday 7.15 for the MTB ride and afterwards at 10.00 for the pub.

I've not marshalled before. What does a marshall do?
Role 1) Collect the £3 fee in Astra Zeneca's car park and add names to start list
Role 2) Hold riders steady/push off from the start line
Role 3) Start stopwatch and give a 10 second countdown to riders on start line
Roles 4 and 5) Stand by Chelford or Booths Hall roundabout wearing a brightly coloured vest next to a sign saying "Cycling Event" as an aid to rider safety
Roles 4a and 5a) Shout encouragement at riders as they pass you ("Dig in!" is perhaps the most traditional phrase)
Role 6) Write down finishing time and number of rider
Role 7) Give results to Martin so they get updated onto the website

Stockport is (probably) the best location for all types of riding on road or mud from the hills of the Peak District to the flatter roads of the Cheshire Plain...it's all just a few pedal strokes away and we know all the best routes and secret trails.

You are very welcome to come and join us! Use the links on the left to find out where and when we are riding or contact:
