SCCC's Derek Hodgins becomes World Champion
SCCC Super-Veteran Derek 'Hairy' Hodgins is
pictured on the podium after becoming World Masters Pursuit
Champion. Below is the bloke that Derek beat, Canadas
Norman Sheil. Norman was World Pursuit Champion 40 years
ago for Great Britain, but in September 1998 SCCC's Club
President Derek beat Sheil by 2 seconds in the 60+ catagory at
Manchester Velodrome to take Stockport Clarions First ever World
title.
Our folicly challenged funsters' incredible 1998 season also
included a 3hrs 56 mins 100 mile time-trial, a national age
record, to add to his National Veterans One Hour Record.
