WELCOME TO STOCKPORT CLARION!
The American branch of Stockport Clarion, namely Doug Clark (click here for photo), has just been crowned "US National 40+ Triathlon Champion".
Aiming for a top three finish, Doug surpassed his own expectations to take the top spot on the podium. Time splits were as follows: swim 1.5km, 20.18; bike 40km, 58.13; run 10km, 35.39. All this on top of a 3,000 mile journey just to get to the start line.
The bike and run were on very hilly courses, but despite the best effoerts of the organisers, the swim section was relatively flat.
CONGRATULATIONS TO DEREK, the newly crowned (in July) VTTA 100 CHAMPION in a time of 4.47.15 and even more newly crowned (September) BRITISH TIME TRIAL CHAMPION in the 70+ age group. Click here for Photo
This follows on from his success in June when he won the "National 50" GOLD MEDAL (70+ age group) in a time of 2hr 03min 44sec.
However, even more congratulations are due as this record breaking season isn't finished for Derek just yet...on Sunday 27th July he broke the VTTA 50 mile age record with a stunning time of 1-58-28. That's more than 25 mph.
The picture above is of Derek riding the Janus clubs "25" last year.
TIME TRIALS,The Club 10 TT's are now finished. All the results are here and individual rides. Check out who had the fastest ride of the year. There were 157 rides from 59 different riders, including 12 from SCCC.
